Funding from Direktør Ib Henriksens Foundation to CPSC

Direktør Ib Henriksens Fond has granted funding for purchasing a new Gel Doc system. The equipment will be used for the project Green Specialists in Mathias Pribil’s research group at Copenhagen Plant Science Centre.

The purpose of the Green Specialists project is to develop and demonstrate a crucial technical advance in plant engineering: developmentally-programmed gene knock-outs in specialized cell types. Chimeric plants present a great platform for future sustainable chemical production having the potential to contain specialized production cells in addition to natural wild-type tissue. By addressing the ability to produce these plants through developmentally programmed gene knock-outs, the Green Specialists project will advance this new aspect of plant engineering.

The grant of 77.675 DKK from Direktør Ib Henriksens Fond will be used to purchase a new Gel Doc system for the project, which will be carried out by postdoc James Behrendorff in the research group of young investigator Mathias Pribil at Copenhagen Plant Science Centre.
