Annual PBD meeting 2015

PBD 2015

The annual PBD Meeting 2015 will be held at KU-SCIENCE – Frederiksberg Campus on 28-29 January 2015 . The meeting program will continuously be updated at the PBD homepage

Meeting concept: Both invited keynote speakers and PBD members will give presentations on January 28. Each session will be initiated by international keynote speakers and followed by scientists from PBD member institutions.  The presentations by PBD institutions will be selected based on the submitted abstracts. Abstracts are submitted to one of the 6 research areas and one abstract from each area will be selected for 20 min oral presentation. See description of the research areas here. In addition the steering committee will select abstracts for an “elevator talk”.

Sessions on 28 January 2015

  • Session 1: Plant Products/Plants for Food and Feed
  • Session 2: Synthetic and Systems Biology/Plant Signaling and Cellular Trafficking
  • Session 3: Biomass Production and Processing/Breeding – Quality, Productivity and Diseases
  • Session 4: Poster session (“elevated science presentations” and poster board meetings)

 Sessions on 29 January 2015

  • Session 5: New Perspectives on Orphan Crops
  • Session 6: Technologies: Genome Editing

Abstract submission and selection for oral presentation: Deadline for abstract submission is 12 December 2014. Especially PhD students and Postdocs are encouraged to present their work. The abstracts should be registered through the PBD homepage. All abstract submitters should bring a poster for the meeting.  If wanted, the abstracts will be enrolled in an abstract selection process and selected abstracts will be invited to give a 20 minutes presentation at the annual meeting.  You will be informed in due time if your abstract has been selected for oral presentation.

Registration: Deadline for registration for attending the meeting is 15 January 2015. Please register through the PBD homepage. NB! Please, do not register for the dinner unless you are sure that you will attend. The dinner is expensive and if you sign up and stay away you waste PBD money. If you regret that you did not register for dinner you can always contact us later on.

Master class: Students are invited for a master class which will take place Thursday afternoon when the annual meeting is finalized. Students within selected research areas – indicated in due time at the homepage - will have the opportunity to give a 10 minutes presentation of their own project and get feedback from some of the key note speakers. Sign up for master class.

PhD course: Trends in Plant Biotechnology (2 ECTS) – running in parallel with Annual Meeting: The PhD course "Trends in Plant Biotechnology" is provided in combination with the annual meeting. Deadline for course registration is 15 January 2015. A list of literature for the course will be available on the homepage. Please be sure to register for both the Annual PBD Meeting 2015 and for the PhD course.
