EliteForsk travel scholarships for PhD student Tomas Laursen
The winners of the EliteForsk travel scholarships from the Minitstry of Science, Innovation and Higher Education were presented at the EliteForsk conference 2012 on February 9.
PhD student Tomas Laursen from Department of Plant Biology and Biotechnology received one of the 17 EliteForsk travel scholarships worth DKK 300,000 each.
Tomas Laursen is reconised for his outstanding research in biosynthesis of chemical compounds in plants.
The enzyme cytokrom P450 reductase is central in Tomas Laursens work. This enzyme is involved in biosynthesis of many of the compounds that makes plants unique producers of pharmaceuticals, flavours and scents.
The EliteForsk travel scholarship covers expenses for workning abroad.
