Plant path seminar with Christian A. Voigt

On Thursday 3th of December 15:00 to 15:45 Christian A. Voigt from the Universität Hamburg will give a talk on "Cell wall-mediated resistance to fungal infection: a look on callose".

About the Voigt lab:

The cell wall represents the first barrier powdery mildew encounters during infection of A. thaliana. A fast modification of the plant cell wall is the formation of callosic papillae. However, the precise role of callose in preventing or slowing down a fungal infection is still poorly understood.

To elucidate the regulation and function of callose synthesis, the Voigt lab try to identify and modify regulative factors. A further target is the involvement of post-translational modifications and mechanisms that influence callose synthesis.

The Plant path seminars are held on the first Thursday of each month in M117-1 - K117-2.
